bag fastener at Oxmox Messenger bag

Messenger bag with Fidlock bag fastener

Anyone who puts their hand on the touch-it messenger bag from Oxmox for the first time will get an extraordinary surprise because, as if by magic, the messenger bag changes color from dark gray to light gray when it is touched. We’ll let you in on the secret: the bag flap is made of thermochromic material, meaning that it reacts to heat. The magic of the Oxmox touch-it messenger bag  extends to the bag fastener. What better choice could there be than a Fidlock fastener, which conceals itself invisibly under the messenger bag flap and closes magically – magnetically. Although it has nothing to do with magic and is all down to the Fidlock concept, the SNAP pull bag fastener is just as surprising. It can also be opened conveniently using the pull strap. In a nutshell: Oxmox creates the perfect touch effect and Fidlock provides the ideal pull effect.

School bags and their fasteners are put to the test by Stiftung Warentest

School bags and their fasteners are put to the test by Stiftung Warentest

School bags must meet a whole range of criteria to survive everyday school life: stability and how easily the bag can be closed, packed and stored also play a decisive role in addition to ergonomic wearing characteristics and a high degree of safety through the use of bright, reflective materials that can be easily seen by motorists, for example. When it comes to ease of handling, more and more high-quality school bag manufacturers rely on fastener solutions with single-hand operation from Fidlock to make it as easy as possible for the schoolchildren to open and close their bags without compromising on the security of the fastener. Fidlock fasteners – such as the MINI TURN featured on Sammies school bags – can act as a central product feature with the corresponding manufacturer branding.

new bag fastener SNAP pull

NEW: Fastener SNAP pull – secure, invisible and convenient

Pull follows push: with the SNAP pull, which was presented for the first time at the Winter ISPO 2013, Fidlock is introducing the latest addition to the SNAP product family. Like all SNAP fasteners, the SNAP pull is based on the proven Fidlock Principle, that combines the benefits of a magnetic fastener with a stable mechanical locking functionality and so offers a high degree of added value: operation with one hand, virtually automatic closing procedure and secure locking. The special feature of the SNAP pull: simply “pull” to open.

In addition to its highly convincing fastening characteristics, the SNAP pull is presented with the “invisible look”, meaning that SNAP pull fasteners can be integrated almost invisibly into the customer’s product (e.g. bags). Designers therefore benefit from greater design freedom: for example, in designing bags and school bags with an “invisible” fastener on the bag flap. By attaching a logo plate, the SNAP pull can be easily riveted on the reverse side.

As with all Fidlock fasteners, the SNAP pull can also be customised to suit individual requirements and thereby perfectly match the customer’s brand and the design of the product.

Fidlock at ISPO MUNICH 2013

Between 3 and 6 February 2013, Fidlock will be presenting its current portfolio of fastener solutions at ISPO MUNICH at stand 613 in hall B6. The around 80,000 visitors to the leading international trade fair for the sports industry can look forward to a comprehensive offering of sporting goods, athletic shoes and fashionable sportswear presented by around 2,300 exhibitors from over 100 countries. And the range of application possibilities for the innovative Fidlock fasteners is just as extensive:

they can be used to close helmets, bags, rucksacks and shoes, or used on items of clothing or to attach and adjust sport accessories on tents, boats and bicycles – the multi-award-winning fastener technology based on the Fidlock principle delivers high-performance solutions for all areas and also boasts an attractive, individual design, a high degree of safety and simple, one-hand operation.

Pull follows push: following on from the successful launch of the SNAP push fastener solution, which generated great interest last year thanks to its easy opening principle with a single “push” that still ensures secure closure, Fidlock will be revealing the new SNAP pull product family for the first time at this year’s ISPO. The special feature: the pull fasteners can be opened easily with a simple “pull” and can be applied “invisibly”. This not only gives designers added value in terms of functionality, but also more flexibility in the design of the product and placement of the logo thanks to the “invisible look”.

Furthermore, Fidlock will also be showcasing some new additions to the SNAP push series, such as the design highlight SNAP push glossy, a high-quality polycarbonate fastener designed for 20 mm wide fastener straps with a sophisticated, glossy surface and rounded edges. Last but not least, the showcase will also include two new fasteners that are particularly flat: the SNAP buckle flat 30 and 40 are perfectly suited as belt fasteners, for example.

In Munich, Fidlock will also be demonstrating further application areas for the tried-and-tested fastener technologies with examples from a range of different sports.
